Gratitude: Mindful Blocking

Last updated: 26 July 2026

The short version

We do not collect your personal data. There is no account, no tracking, and no advertising. Everything you write, every app you choose to block, and every gratitude you record stays on your iPhone.

Information we collect

None. The app has no sign-up, no analytics SDK, and no advertising SDK. Your gratitude entries, goals, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device.

Screen Time (Family Controls)

To shield the apps you choose, the app uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks. Your app-usage and app selection data is handled by iOS on your device and is never transmitted to us. Apple's design means we cannot see which apps you selected — we only receive an opaque token that iOS uses locally to apply the shield.

Speech recognition

When you speak a gratitude to unlock, speech recognition is performed on your device to check the words you said. Audio is not recorded, not stored, and not uploaded. You can always type instead of speaking. iOS will ask for microphone and speech-recognition permission before this feature is used, and you may decline.

Coach

The reflective coach in this version runs entirely on your device. Anything you write to it stays on your device and is not sent to any server.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, they are scheduled locally on your device. We do not operate a push server and cannot send you messages.

Purchases

Optional Pro features are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the transaction; we never see or store your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a future version of the app introduces any feature that sends data off your device, this policy will be updated before that feature ships.
